The difference between a “weld it” fix and a durable repair
I’ve seen a lot of welds that technically “held”… right up until the machine went back to work. A durable repair usually comes down to prep, alignment, and reinforcement—not just laying a bead on a crack.
If you’re repairing buckets, booms, frames, or brackets, you’re fighting vibration, shock loads, and fatigue. Plan for it.
Common weld and fab repairs we see
Structural cracks, worn pin bores, broken brackets, torn mounts—these show up constantly on hard-used machines. Some repairs are simple, and some need fabrication to restore strength and geometry.
- Bucket and attachment crack repair
- Mount and bracket reinforcement
- Guard and step repairs
- Custom brackets and small fabrication pieces
When fabrication is the smarter option
If you can’t source a part quickly, or the “replacement” is weaker than what you need, fabrication can be the fastest way back to productivity. The key is making sure the repair matches how the machine is used, not just how it looks.
